🗞️ Hot off the press! 🗞️ Check out a new publication in the Journal of Dairy Science, authored by Steve Roche, Dave Renaud, and Julia Saraceni of ACER Consulting; and Dave Kelton and Trevor DeVries of the University of Guelph.

Excerpt from the article

“There has been a considerable amount of research focused on investigating the risk factors associated with lameness and injuries and how they might be prevented and treated. The objectives of this narrative review were to summarize herd-level prevalence estimates, risk factors, strategies for prevention, control, and treatment of these conditions, and the barriers to best practice adoption for lameness and injuries on dairy farms.” (Roche et al., 2023)

Photodisinfection for improved food safety: An innovative opportunity

Photodisinfection is a state-of-the-art technology that uses a light-activated substance to kill microorganisms. It is used in hospitals to reduce pathogens and prevent infections and is being explored by Ondine Biomedical in collaboration with Chinook Contract Research for food and surface sanitization in the food industry.
